More Stories on the WKC

... Still being collated. Pls come back for the complete article.

1st World Kids Conference (WKC)

The first World Kids Conference of the CFC Kids for Family and Life was held on May 9-11, 2008 in Father Luigi Caburlotto School, Brgy Buho Amadeo, Cavite (5 minutes from Tagaytay City). It is entitled "JOY ADVENTURE: The Quest for Real Treasure", inspired by our community's theme this year from Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God is with you; the mighty One will save you. He will rejoice over you. You will rest in His love; He will sing and be joyful about you". Diocese of Paranaque had a total of 60 delegates.

The conference started with the praise parade with kids singing the chant of the Diocese "Joy in Christ, Joy in Christ! Kasama natin everyday si Christ. Joy in Christ, Joy in Christ! All for. All for. All for!" in the tune of Indiana Jones movie theme. (There's so much joy and enthusiasm in their singing that the kids are still singing it in their cars on their way home on Sunday.) It's becoming a habit of putting faces on our banner but this time, it's mostly the faces of the coordinators and parents. The banner show our slogan "ALL FOR"

One of the most joyous activity of the conference is the Treasure Quest. It's like the Amazing Race adventure seen on TV which challenges each team to find the treasure. The kids went through different treasure trails and fulfilling the task in each pit stop to get their treasures like Emerald, Ruby, Diamond, Pearl etc (these are not real stones of course but some kids really treasured them). In the picture, one of the group is solving the memory puzzle before they can claim their treasure and the instruction on what station to go next. These Treasure Quest activity plus the Adventure: The Quest for Real Treasure THE PLAY that the kids watched on Saturday night taught them that the treasures in a kid's life are Family, Friends, Studies, Self and the ultimate treasure is God.

The coors, parents and YFL serving the kids were happy to see Bro Frank Padilla watching the play on Saturday night. They took the opportunity to take pictures with Bro Frank the next morning after the mass and closing program.
